La caffettiera da moka con il numero di modello «558» è ormai considerata uno dei classici nascosti della manifattura di ceramica di Hedwig Bollhagen. Questa caffettiera dal design semplice e senza tempo ha caratterizzato il design quotidiano dell'ex DDR e oggi viene riscoperta dagli amanti del design. Caratteristiche distintive sono la forma cilindrica e lineare del corpo, il beccuccio lungo, elegantemente ricurvo e antigoccia e il manico senza fronzoli. L'altezza totale, compreso il coperchio con il manico a forma di fungo, è di 20 centimetri. Con una capacità di 0,7 litri, la caffettiera non è né troppo piccola né troppo grande. L'elevata funzionalità della caffettiera multifunzionale in stile modernista, unita alla massima maestria artigianale, rispecchia la massima di Hedwig Bollhagen. «È bello ciò che funziona», recitava il suo motto.
